Summer Bucket List

Sunday, May 25, 2014
I am linking up with Deanna Jump to make a Summer To Do list! It should be interesting to look back in August to see what actually happened.  Whatever does happen...I know it will be an eventful time!

Pinterest House {& Deck} Projects:
Want to do this on my deck for some privacy... maybe I won't be so self conscious in my bathing suit, lol!
Mini Office in a Chest

I want my linen closet to look like this! (and there are so many other great organizational ideas on this site)
expose it... with method.

Make the most of my Summer School Teaching position.  : )

Spend lots of time on my deck.  {A Work In Progress, see #1}

 Secure a teaching job for next year!  This has been my ultimate goal/dream/wish/want/need for the past two and a half years {really, 20 years}.  I am feeling it WILL happen this year.  It just has to.  There's no question.  It is going. to. happen. : )

Love on all the newborn babies in my life.  I feel grateful I will have ample time to spend with them and their beautiful mommas, of course!
My M-I-L with nephew baby Landis

My BFF's baby boy, Luke

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings! I have three within 4 weeks.  One of which I am in. And I will be wearing this dress which I am really looking forward to. {no, that is not sarcasm, I actually really like this dress} Except it's not purple.  It's "Blonde" aka light yellow.  I will get to find out if "blondes" really have more fun.
David's Bridal Long Strapless Chiffon Bridesmaid Dress with Pleated Bodice. Style F15555 in Lapis purple.

Because of said dress above, I must get a tan! I cannot rock my Irish pale skin in a "blonde" dress. Will be spending days poolside at my parents as much as possible...wearing sunscreen, of course, because I burn.  Tanning is a sloowwww process.  It will take all summer.
BEACH : Dewey Beach, Delaware is one of my favorite places on the planet! While there I will have a separate "Top 10" list which includes: Eating as much Grotto pizza as possible, Orange crushes at The Starboard, walking barefoot in the sand and so on and so forth.
Dewey Beach, DE-- me and Lindsay had more fun there than I can bare

Work on TPT stuff.  I already started making a master plan for the next year including lots of FREEBIES! If you want to make a monthly plan, check out my freebie below:

Last, but certainly not least, spend time with my HUBBY! This can be difficult because it is his busy time of year {he is a landscaper} so I hope to carve out as much time as possible to enjoy the summer with him.  Since I have much more free time, I can spoil him with delicious dinners and a spotless house {ha!}.

Thanks for listening!

Not slowing down...

     As a substitute, I don't really get that "end of the school year" feeling.  I do, in a way, but it is different.  I crave being a part of one school, one classroom, for one whole year {well, hopefully more}.  I don't feel that I get excited for the end of school because I'm not really ready for it to be over.  I am anxiously waiting for my next journey to begin.
    The next step on this journey is....summer school!  I was selected to teach 6th grade Language Arts for a 6 week program.  It is part time, 4 days a week--the perfect summer job, in my opinion.  I can't wait for this new challenge and to have the opportunity to delve into a different grade level than I am used to.  I am also very happy to be able to continue to work towards my ultimate goal--a permanent position--while also having flexibility to enjoy summer and keep working on TPT.
   I subbed in a kinder class for a little while today and they were working on syllables. It inspired me to create this freebie {that and some cute lemon/lime freebie clipart I found today by Katy Did Doodles}.  While I realize this isn't solely a kindergarten resource, you could easily adapt it to your needs.  I can't help but make products with the older ones in mind : )

    Thanks for "listening"! I hope you have a great end of the year!

 Happy Friday All! I am here to recap my eventful week with Doodle Bugs Five for Friday!
Always a favorite : ) Click on the pic below to link up!

I am going to keep this as short as possible because I am heading to go see my new nephew in the hospital then to dinner with my hubs! My sister-in-law gave birth yesterday to a baby boy, Landis Jared.  He is a preemie and in the NICU right now, please send positive thoughts their way!!

I am an AUNT to not one but two special babies born in the past week.  Meet Luke!  My best friend had her baby a week ago today! He is SO precious and I got to spend some time loving on him this week!

Only 14 days of school left!! I am back to day-to-day subbing and that's totally cool : ) My ESL long term position ended yesterday and it is bittersweet at always.  I am kind of a pro at these "goodbyes" considering this is my 5th position!

Kindergarten ESL is definitely what I will miss the most because it was SO fun to plan for and even more fun to teach.

Goldfish graphing.  You can find this freebie here in my last post.

Mother's Day was spent with my side of the family who hasn't gotten together since Christmas! .  We had a lot of fun and played a version of "20 Questions".  It was a celebrity mom theme.  I think my dad really appreciated being Kim Kardashian.

Isn't my Mom beautiful?! She looks HOT for her age {I won't tell, just trust me!}

I know these last days are crazzzy for everyone and I was trying to think of a useful freebie.  I whipped up this All About page to recap Field Day. Click here or on the picture below to go to my Facebook Page and download the Fan Freebie!

I am EXTRA excited to be linking up for this Five for Friday with Doodlebugs because of....

{drum roll please}

My NEW, stylish, SASSY look created by the UBER talented Megan from A Bird in Hand Designs! She is seriously the greatest to work with and after a few hundred changes in my opinions, she finished it up and here we are! THANK YOU Megan! I am really not sure how you do it all but you are AWESOME!

Even though it's the end of the year {19 days left!!}, this blog makeover is motivating me to start planning for next year--TPT planning--that is.  I made this monthly planner to keep me organized.  You can download it by clicking here or on any of the pictures.  It's simple and to the point but I wanted something where I can prioritize ideas and then check them off each month!  Sorry it's not editable, I am more of a pen/pencil to paper kind-of-girl.

Yesterday we started DIBELs and I am on the team of teachers who will spend a whole 3 days to knock out the entire school.  Part of me enjoys this.  I like working with students I don't normally see, listening to them read, scoring and seeing their yearly progress.  Part of me {my ears and neck} get sore from hearing the same.story.over.and.over. and looking down for the majority of the day.  Do you feel me?!  How do you administer it in your school? Or do you NOT DIBEL?  I'd love to hear how it works for you!

One of my only consistent groups lately has been my kindergarten ESL group.  We have been learning about the ocean.  Here are some freebies I have found and used: {click on any of the pictures to go download!}

Ocean/Science freebie by Kristin Lovenberg

We used this SmartBoard activity to discuss what we would take to the beach and then packed our own pretend suitcases for a trip to the beach!

I found this Goldfish cracker sorting freebie and then I went to the store and found Goldfish on sale for $1.14!!! PERFECT! It's all prepped and ready for next week : )

Finally we are going to make these adorable Pout-Pout Fish crafts to go with the story from First Grade Blue Skies.  O.M.G. she makes the most creative resources!!

We've read some other really great books about the ocean and ocean animals:

Then we made these simple Octopi {or Octopuses?} with construction and tissue paper.

This picture book is SO deep {pun?}.  The "story" was a little too over my kinders' heads but the illustrations are unbelievable.  It is truly a magical book and I would recommend it for any age!

Did you all stock up on goodies at the TPT sale?  Since I don't know what I will be doing next year {or really, next week} I got mostly digital paper, frames and clipart.  Here's some things I picked up and I cannot wait to use!

I love EVERYTHING from Educlips/Edusong.
Six Traits Of Writing Clip Art Bundle

Obsessed with frames.
Edge It Set 4 - Borders Great For Worksheet Edges!

I am "cooking" up something SPECIAL with this kitchen themed digital paper from Collective Creation
